FSIN Vice Chief Aly Bear has announced she is going to run for the position as Chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations.
In a news release she says the FSIN needs strong leadership that is accountable to the Rights Holders and serves with integrity.
She also said she would continue to fight to ensure First Nations’ Treaty and Inherent Rights are respected and upheld. Aly Bear, who received her law degree in 2020, was elected Third Vice-Chief of the FSIN in October 2021.
Meanwhile, on Friday, current Chief Bobby Cameron announced he was going to take another run at being Chief of the FSIN. He has served three terms as the head of the First Nations elected body. As well David Pratt announced he would run for re-election as First Vice Chief during the FSIN elections October 31st.
