Ahtahkakoop RCMP have arrested one person in connection to a shooting but the man’s name, age and charges have not been released as yet in the ongoing investigation.
On Wednesday at 6:28 p.m. RCMP responded to a report of a gun being fired at a motorist just outside of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation about 10 minutes earlier.
The driver was travelling on a grid road on the north boundary of the First Nation when they came across a black Chevrolet Equinox parked on the side of the road, looking in need of assistance. The individual pulled over and approached the SUV. The driver pointed a firearm at the individual and reportedly discharged it in their direction multiple times.
It’s believed three people were inside including a male driver and two females. No injuries were reported to police.
