Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Michael Boda phot: Elections Saskatchewan
The Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan signed all 61 writs of election for the province’s 30th General Election. Voting Week is October 22nd to 28th. Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Michael Boda, says convenient and easy access for residents to cast their ballots is fundamental to a free and fair election. To do that, the mail option is being expanded and Boda says, “The creation of Voting Week is a crucial step in acknowledging the need to place the voter at the centre of our system.” It means multiple days, multiple places and multiple ways of being able to cast your vote.
October 19th is the last day for voters to register in advance, if you aren’t already registered. It’s also the last day to apply to vote by mail or for homebound voting – a special ballot and process that allows people who are unable to leave home for reasons of illness, infirmity, or immobility to vote. Advance polls are open October 22nd to 26 and then October 28th is the final day of Voting Week. For more information, click here.
