Around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday Saskatoon Police responded to a report of a man carrying a machete and stealing items from a store in the 400 block of Confederation Drive.
A suspect was quickly tracked down, but he evaded police running across multiple lanes of traffic while carrying a machete. An officer deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) and the suspect dropped the machete.
A 26-year-old man was quickly taken into custody and has been charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and was found to be breaching court-imposed conditions.
