The Regina Police Service is reminding people about actions to prevent thefts from vehicles after 30 reports of theft from auto crimes in a week, and 16 of these cases, the vehicle’s door was unlocked.
Stolen items included sporting goods, electronics, tools, personal documents, and credit cards and bank cards.
From that six credit card or bank card tap thefts were reported as a result of the card thefts.
Prevention tips include not leaving valuables in a parked vehicle, because if there is nothing valuable in sight for a would-be thief, there is less reason to break in.
Remove garage door openers and spare keys to prevent thieves from getting into your home or garage.
Never leave your vehicle running with the keys inside and always lock the doors.
