Federated Co-operatives Limited has donated nearly $4.5 million to USask scholarships, programs and initiatives since the university’s Be What the World Needs campaign began. This includes renewed support of $1.3 million for the Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this fall.
In appreciation, a collaboration and learning space in the Diefenbaker Building, which is home of the CCSC, has been dedicated and re-named the Co-op Collaborative Room. A USask news release says the room will provide space for students, faculty, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and community partners to work together to find solutions for social and economic challenges. The Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives conducts research, develops new educational programs and provides analysis to understand and promote co-operative organizations and initiatives.
