The former Speaker of the Saskatchewan Legislature and Sask. Party MLA is encouraging residents to lend their vote to Carla Beck and the NDP this election season.
Randy Weekes says the current Sask. Party is not the party he joined in 1997. He believes Party Leader Scott Moe lacks leadership and discipline when it comes to reprimanding his MLAs.
He cites examples such as “The whole issue around the use of the N-word and racism by David Buckingham and Greg Ottenbreit was unacceptable and there were no repercussions.”
“The then-House Leader Jeremy Harrison brought a gun into the Legislative Building, admitted to it, and again, almost no repercussions.”
Weekes also shook his head at the healthcare system, which he believes is failing.
“Patients in hallways, emergency rooms over capacity, healthcare workers burning out and leaving the system. I’ve seen people I’ve known for years now struggling just to pay for basics, young families having to make cuts.”
Weekes says Beck is the perfect person for the job and urges those who are on the fence this election to vote for change.
