The Canadian Federation of Independant Business is expressing concern over a one-day strike called at the Port of Montreal for today.
CFIB says the strike shows “blatant disregard for how their actions impact small- and medium-sized businesses and the broader economy.”
The port’s longshoremen union has already been on strike for three days earlier this month, as they are at odds with the employer over contract discussions.
CFIB calls on the federal government to make ports an essential service, so they can remain open at all times.
