Farmers are investing in the next generation of young people by participating in the Acres for Education program.

A voluntary donation of 10 cents an acre goes to help Ag in the Classroom and its many programs, both inside and outside school. Some farmers also participate by allowing students to come to their farms on tours and learn more about what modern agriculture is all about. More than $70,000 was raised in 2023 during the first year of the Acres for Education program.

McArthur Ag Ventures in the Watrous area have participated in both programs. We spoke to Amanda McArthur and she talks about their farming operation.
