Three people have been arrested in connected to the theft of copper wire in northwest Saskatchewan.
November 23rd, Turtleford RCMP launched an investigation into the theft of approximately 500 metres of copper wire which was stolen from a work site in the RM of Frenchman Butte.
Three men were arrested in Paradise Hill the next day including 22-year-old Declan Weinhandl from Paradise Hill who is charged with mischief, theft and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was also arrested on warrants from Turtleford RCMP for assault causing bodily harm and failure to attend court.
Thirty-year-old Colby Riguidel from Lloydminster is charged with mischief and theft over $5,000. And 26-year-old Austin Jezowski from Paradise Hill is charged with one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
This is the second time Turtleford RCMP has laid charges in relation to copper wire thefts in November. Saskatchewan RCMP reminds residents to report suspicious activity, or information about crimes, to their local police of jurisdiction.
