A recent trade agreement between Canada and Indonesia is eagerly welcomed by the Canadian Cattle Association and the 60,000 beef producers within it who hope to benefit from new markets.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Canada’s Minister of International Trade and Indonesia to establish an understanding on sanitary issues to address market access for the trade in Canadian beef.
Nathan Phinney, CCA President, says “Canadian negotiators worked tirelessly to secure comprehensive tariff free access for Canadian beef and to address challenges for the Canadian beef sector.”
During the market visits that took place on the trade mission, CCA says members heard directly from Indonesian retailers that their customers are looking for high quality grain finished beef.
