Warman City Council has approved their 2025 municipal budget. Warman residents will see their property taxes increase by 3.98 per cent which, on a home assessed at $350,000, will mean an increase of approximately $8.20 per month.
In a news release the City says, “Inflationary pressures positioned the City’s preliminary budget at over five percent, but Council, Administration and the responsible efforts of the City’s Directors effectively decreased that amount to under four percent at the annual budget meeting on December 11, 2024.”
The 2025 budget focuses primarily on the expansion of the Warman Home Centre Communiplex, a new Public Works facility, equipment upgrades, and street improvements.
The recreation levy will increase by 75-dollars to 150-dollars total as committed in last year’s budget to fund recreational capital projects. The levy accounts for approximately three percent of the 3.98 percent 2025 municipal tax increase.
The Capital Budget comes in at $20,410,463, with over fifteen million designated for the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.
Capital Budget Highlights:
- $15,100,463 – Warman Home Centre Communiplex Expansion – addition of second arena.
- $3,000,000 – New Public Works Shop – The Public Works & Utilities department has outgrown its current location on North Railway St; there is no space to add any new equipment. A new facility would give the City of Warman the option to add equipment to keep up with our growing community.
