The Saskatoon Police Service says two men are facing weapons and drug trafficking related charges in connection to an ongoing investigation in the city’s Evergreen neighbourhood.
Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. investigators from the SPS Crime Reduction Team, with assistance from the SPS Tactical Support Unit, carried out enforcement action at a business in the 1200 block of Baltzan Boulevard. Two men, ages 28 and 34, who were suspected of trafficking illicit narcotics, were arrested.
After their arrest two search warrants were executed at homes in the 100 block of Horner Crescent and the 200 block of Akhtar Bend.
Police seized 771.6 grams of cocaine, 111 eight milligram hydromorphone tablets (Dilaudid), 2 switchblades, brass knuckles, 432 one-gram packages of illicit cannabis products (shatter/butter); cellular devices, jewellery, designer sunglasses, designer luggage a 2014 Honda Civic and materials consistent with drug trafficking.
A total of 11 charges were laid including weapons offences, drug trafficking offences and possession of proceeds of crime over $5000.
