There are fog advisories in place for most of the province as far northwest as Meadow Lake, east to Nipawin and Hudson Bay and includes everything south of that all the way to the U.S. border. As of 8:30 a.m. the fog advisory has lifted for portions of the southwest including Kindersley, Leader, Eston, Maple Creek, Gull Lake and south. Fog advisories also lifted for La Loche and La Ronge.
Environment Canada says dense fog is being reported over much of the Prairies this morning. While, the fog will thin somewhat throughout the day, it will likely persist in many areas and redevelop this evening.
There are some regions with good visibility within the fog advisory area, however, it comes and goes and motorists should be prepared to deal with areas of near-zero visibility, even if conditions at the moment are good.
In addition, the fog will likely lead to slippery driving conditions.
