Gasbuddy.com’s head of petroleum analysis says they’ve seen a mostly stable week for gas prices as millions of motorists prepare to travel for Christmas.
Patrick De Haan predicts, “With oil prices continuing to move sideways, gas prices are likely to hold near current levels in the coming week.”
However, he does note that they are monitoring volatility as geopolitical tensions and potential changes in U.S. trade policy could impact future prices. He says as families travel for the holidays, this volatility at the pump is a timely reminder to check prices before filling up to save as much as 5 to 15 cents per litre. De Haan expects that trend that will likely persist into 2025.
