Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, Rosetown RCMP issued an advisory that there was a serious accident on Highway #7 approximately 15 kilometres west of Rosetown.
While the highway was closed at the time with detours in place, the Highway Hotline does not indicate any closures Wednesday morning, but it did indicate roads in the area were partly covered. The Highway Hotline was reporting pavement frost on many provincial highways Wednesday morning.
The RCMP in a news release said they couldn’t confirm that the collision was weather related however officers in the area were reporting that roads Tuesday night were very slippery.
No further details or update has been provided.
Meanwhile a 24-year-old man from Lloydminster was killed in the accident yesterday morning on Highway #17 about 5 kilometres north of Lloydminster.
He was driving a pickup truck which collided with a semi. The driver of the semi did not report injuries to police.
Highway #17 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened. Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
