Gas prices in Saskatoon on Monday shot up by 8-cents-a-litre to 151.9.
This was on the heels of Gasbuddy.com reporting that average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon had fallen 0.8 c/L in the past week, averaging 142.41 c/L Sunday according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 81 gas outlets in Saskatoon.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy says, “For now, while the price of oil may struggle in 2025, it may be another year of high gas prices for many Canadians, as the carbon tax continues its march higher, leaving gas prices little room but to go higher. While there may be times in 2025 that prices are lower than 2024, a continued rise in taxes means it will be very difficult for low oil prices to deliver meaningful relief at the pump.”
