Regina Police have laid charges on a 23-year-old woman in relation to the death of a three-month-old boy back in 2023.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, police were called to a home in the 1900 block of Halifax Street for a report of a child not breathing. When they arrived, they located the boy lying on the floor unresponsive.

First aid measures were taken until EMS arrived; however the infant was pronounced dead on scene a short time later.

Then, yesterday, following an extensive death investigation, a 23-year-old female was arrested and charged with Manslaughter and Criminal Negligence Causing Death.

The name of the female charged will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim. She will make her first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court Monday.
