Saskatoon paralympic swimmer Hannah Ouellette is the Sask Sport December Athlete-of-the-Month.
Ouellette swam a Canadian record-breaking time of 54-point-nine-seven seconds, in the S-5 50-metre backstroke event and claimed gold at an international invitational meet. She also finished on top of the podium in the S-5 50-metre butterfly, obtaining a qualifying time for the 2025 World Championships. In addition, she swam in three other individual events – S-5 50-m freestyle, winning a silver medal, plus bronze medals in the S-5 100-metre freestyle and S-M-5 200-metre individual medley. Later in December, she swam in four more events at the J-P Fiset Invitational Swim Meet, earning three additional bronze medals. Following is the news release from Sask Sport…..

Ouellette swam a Canadian record-breaking time of 54.97 seconds, in the S5 50-metre backstroke event and claimed gold. She also finished on top of the podium in the S5 50-m butterfly, obtaining a qualifying time for the 2025 World Championships. In addition, she swam in three other individual events – S5 50-m freestyle (silver), S5 100-m freestyle (bronze) and SM5 200-m individual medley (bronze).
