Shortly before midnight Friday patrol officers responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a driving lane on 8th Street East near Broadway Avenue came across the driver and lone occupant of the van asleep at the wheel.
He was arrested as officers located an imitation handgun, two knives, brass knuckles, bear spray and an extendable baton inside the vehicle. After searching the vehicle further, Police located meth, fentanyl, cocaine, cannabis, cash and various other items consistent with drug trafficking. Police say the driver was also found to be in possession of a glass pipe.
A 30-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine. He is also facing six charges of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and one charge of Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000.
