The City of Regina has released its vision and conceptual design for the Scarth Street Mall.
The space between 11th and 12th Avenue is slated to be transformed into what the city calls a ‘pedestrian corridor.’
Based on public engagement, technical analysis and a review of best practices from other Canadian cities, Regina has released a “What We Heard” Report, including aspirations shared by residents including keeping the Scarth Street Mall pedestrian-only, more events and activities for all ages, enhanced safety and cleanliness, increased support for local businesses, more vibrant gathering spaces with public art, and improved accessibility for people of all ages and abilities.
The design can be explored at Visit Regina.ca/Scarth, and residents are encouraged to share their input. The final design will continue to be refined as the project progresses towards construction in 2027.
