The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team is searching for 29-year-old Glen Halkett, who escaped from the Penitentiary on December 31st. RCMP reported on January 2nd, that Halkett had been seen in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in Little Red River New Year’s Day and when officers activated their emergency lights and approached the vehicle, it sped past, striking the police vehicle’s side. The officers weren’t injured, but the vehicle was damaged.
From this incident, he is facing charges of flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited. That’s along with a charge of escaping lawful custody and being unlawfully at large in relate to the escape from the Prince Albert penitentiary.
Halkett had been serving a sentence of 2 years, 9 months for multiple charges including break and enter with intent, possession of proceeds obtained by crime flight from a peace officer and vehicle theft. Glen Fredrick Richard Halkett is 5’8″ and weighs 76 kg (168 lbs). He has a fair complexion with brown eyes and black hair and he has a tattoo on his neck and under his left eye.
