The City of Prince Albert says they have changed the location of the Emergency Shelter Consultation for tonight.
In a news release Craig Guidinger, Director of Community Development says, “The turnout at the last two meetings has been great and it shows us that the community is truly invested in the conversation.”
The community meeting tonight will take place at the Ches Leach Lounge in the Art Hauser Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The workshops will include presentations from representatives from The City of Prince Albert and the YWCA and there will also be round tables to collect feedback from participants.
The City is consulting with the community regarding a 24-hour shelter for people experiencing homelessness. It is to be a safe space to meet their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and hygiene. It is also a place where they can receive support with mental health and addictions and access to positive activities such as life-skills programming. The shelter’s goal is also to help them find long-term housing.
There is another consultation on January 30 at PAGC Urban Services and a survey online is in the works for those who can’t attend the meetings.
