A stabbing early Thursday morning in Prince Albert left a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries while the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested three people, two of whom are facing charges, in connection to the incident.
A PAPS news release says that around 1:30 a.m. on January 23, officers were sent to the 500 block of 28th Street East for an injured person that dispatch advised was a cab driver who had been stabbed.
Paramedics arrived shortly after police did, taking the man to hospital. Officers say they were able to obtain video surveillance and found that two males and a female were given a ride, only to have one of the males assault the cab driver with a knife and rob him.
The Prince Albert Police Canine Unit was deployed in the area of 28th Street West and 4th Avenue East where officers located a 31-year-old man and 30-year-old woman. The man was arrested and charged with obstructing police. Later, around 9:15 a.m., a second 31-year-old man believed involved in the early morning stabbing incident was located and arrested by officers responding to a separate call. He is facing charges related to robbery, aggravated assault and disguise with intent. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
