SCHEDULE FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 23
The 2025 Viterra Prairie Pinnacle, Provincial Women’s Curling Championship, and the SaskTel Tankard, Provincial Men’s Curling Championship both continue today and run through Sunday in Kindersley. Both events have nine teams taking part in a round-robin plus four-team Page Playoff format. The winners declared on Sunday will represent Saskatchewan at national playdowns. The women’s champ will compete at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, from February 14th through 23rd. The men’s champion will compete in the 2025 Montana’s Brier in Kelowna, B-C, from February 28th through March 9th. On today’s schedule, there’s men’s draws at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. There are women’s draws at Noon and 8 p.m.

The 2025 Knights of Columbus Games start today and run through Saturday at the Saskatoon Field House. Today’s events are Elementary Relays heats in the Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 Girls and Boys divisions…starting at 5:30 p.m. and running through to about 9:30 p.m.

The Western Hockey League returns to action tomorrow with 9 games, including the Saskatoon Blades visiting the Prince Albert Raiders to open a home-and-home series. The Friday game starts at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre. CJWW’s broadcast begins at 6:45 p.m. and the play-by-play at 7 p.m. The Blades have 23 wins, 15 losses, 5 extra time losses for 51 points…good for 2nd place in the Eastern Conference.
