One woman was taken to hospital yesterday after being hit by a City bus. It happened over the lunch hour Monday at Louise Avenue and 8th Street East.

The Saskatoon Police Service says a woman stepped off the sidewalk into the driving lane of the bus and was hit.

The victim reportedly fled the scene but was located by officers in the 1400 block of Main Street.

She was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, paramedics transported her to hospital. At the time of the collision, she was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.

The 18-year-old woman was issued a ticket for walking into the path of a vehicle when unsafe.
