
Last Sunday in Air Ronge, the Saskatchewan RCMP’s La Ronge Crime Reduction Team seized a kilogram of cocaine during a traffic stop.
A news release from the RCMP says it was around 1 in the morning when officers pulled over a vehicle in the community and determined the woman driving had a suspended driver’s license and a male passenger had a warrant for his arrest.
While arresting the male, police say a small amount of cocaine was seized. While searching the vehicle, officers located and seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine, a handgun, ammunition, a baton, and additional drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Both were arrested as were two other passengers. Nineteen-year-old Keannu Starnyski, and 32-year-old Gary Roberts both of Sucker River, 27-year-old Katelynn Charles of Stanley Mission and 24-year-old Freda Charles of La Ronge are all facing multiple firearms and drug charges.
