
Graduate students at the University of Saskatchewan who are interested in water security have access to a new, unique training opportunity.
A $1.65 million grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council will allow master’s and PhD students from a variety of disciplines to try their hand at developing solutions and policies in the realm of water health.
USask researcher Dr. Markus Hecker says the water health program aims to deepen students’ understanding of the relation between water quantity and water quality, and how social and ecological challenges can impact human health.
Students involved will participating both from home and abroad, as there are opportunities for internships around Canada and Germany.
