
Multiple people and multiple locations, requiring multiple specialty units from the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS), completed a complex drug trafficking investigation on Friday.
According to an SPS news release, five people – two women aged 24 and 27 plus three men aged 35, 37 and 41 – were arrested and face a combined total of 26 charges. On March 14, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) and investigators from the Guns and Gangs Unit, the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) conducted enforcement action regarding the drug trafficking investigation. They started by taking an adult female and male into custody during a traffic stop in the 10 block of Sturby Place. Officers found cash, cocaine, fentanyl, G-H-B and methamphetamine with them. Shortly after that, a female was taken into custody in the 1000 block of 23rd Street West. Police seized a replica airsoft pistol and fentanyl with her. A male was then arrested inside a mall in the 3300 block of 8th Street East. Cash, cocaine and a gold bar were found with him. In addition, TSU executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of 23rd Street West.
