RCMP dog sniffs out large amount of cocaine

The provincial RCMP Roving Traffic Unit recovered one kilogram of cocaine during a traffic stop late Tuesday morning, just west of Regina on the TransCanada Highway.

The cocaine was recovered with the assistance of an RCMP service dog.

An RCMP news release says the driver told investigators he was travelling from Alberta to Manitoba.

Forty-one-year-old Jalil Wahab from Calgary faces one count of trafficking and one count of possession for purpose of trafficking.

Wahab is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on May 29th
