Regina Fire and Protective Services says they were called to the scene at 4:49 a.m. and that the Co-op Refinery fire crews have the situation under control. Regina Fire is in a standby mode to assist if needed and no injuries have been reported.
A Regina resident posted footage on “X” from a doorbell camera where the loud bang could be heard.
Global TV in Regina is reporting there was an early morning explosion at the Regina Co-op refinery. They say the shockwave rocked their entire Global Regina building.
CTV Regina is reporting that a number of callers say they felt their homes shake.
Federated Cooperatives Limited issued a statement Tuesday morning.
“At approximately 4:45 a.m. the Refinery experienced a fire in a unit in Section Three. At this time, we can report that all personnel are accounted for with two employees being assessed for minor injuries. The incident has been contained, and the impacted area has been stabilized. We will provide more information as the investigation into the incident progresses. “
