
The provincial government’s respiratory illness report states that influenza hospitalizations remained stable in the reporting period from March 9th to 22nd, while ICU admissions decreased compared to the previous two weeks. COVID-19 and RSV hospitalizations have also decreased. However, four people who had the flu died. Two died in the week of March 9th and two more, the week of March 16th. In the last four weeks, there have been five influenza-related deaths in Saskatchewan and no deaths from COVID-19 or RSV.
Four people were admitted to a hospital who had COVID in this two week period while 210 people in the hospital had influenza, and from that number, 20 were in an ICU. Twenty-seven patients were admitted to the hospital with RSV and two of those patients were in an ICU.
