A new CUPE Saskatchewan report is being released Monday about the growing workload for medical technologists and technicians in the province.
A news release from the Canadian Union of Public Employees says the report’s findings indicate that nearly 90 per cent of respondents have increased workloads, with many having to work unpaid hours and skip breaks to keep up.
Workers also say severe short staffing is increasing the risks to patient care.
The report will be released over the noon hour on Monday at the Saskatchewan Legislature with frontline medical technologists and technicians, union representatives and the Official Opposition in attendance.
