
Around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Saskatoon Police Service says officers attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near 21st Street West and Avenue W South but the vehicle sped off evading police.
However a while later it came to a stop when it hit a curb in the 100 block of Northumberland Avenue.
A man got out of the vehicle and deployed bear spray which temporarily affected officers who were dealing with other people in the vehicle. A man and woman fled while the male driver remained at the scene and was promptly arrested.
Their investigation identified the female suspect who was arrested near 33rd Street West and Northumberland Avenue. The 32-year-old woman was wanted on outstanding warrants.
A Police Service Dog continued to track the individual who had discharged the bear spray. A suspect was located and arrested in the back yard of a home in the 1100 block of Avenue Y North.
A 32-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, among various other weapons-related charges and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions. A 37-year-old man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public and operate a motor vehicle being pursued by police.
