It’s my Parting Shot for my Monday Musings…..

A few shout outs to start a new week.

First, a big thank you to Dean and the gang at the O-K Tire location at the corner of 22nd Street and Avenue C for the rapid service in looking after a slow leak in my right front tire last week. Within 30 minutes of calling, my vehicle was on the hoist and within another hour, I was on my way! The culprit – a half-inch length screw imbedded in the tire tread!! Removal, hole plugged and patched and just like new – which the tire essentially is with less than 23-thousand kilometres on it!

Secondly, big thank you to Alex and his staff at Sardinia’s! It was my wife’s birthday last week and we had a great meal with our friends, the Beerlings!! Sardinia’s has never let me down when it comes to having a great meal at a very reasonable price – especially considering the portion size!

Thirdly, I went back to Sami’s Sunrise Grill on 47th Street for lunch today after being there last week with a group of people for breakfast! Again, very good food at a reasonable price!!

Once again, there’s nothing like playoffs to bring out the passion for hockey in the rink – both on the ice and in the stands! Everyone of the first five games had a few testosterone leaks, most of them happening late in games when the result was no longer in question as frustrated losing teams got a little ornery, trying to let the Game 1 winners know that they weren’t about to roll over and play dead!

I also appreciate the fans getting into it. Like Winnipeg fans chanting, “Luke is better”, referring to Jets’ defenceman Luke Schenn being the preferred option compared to Luke’s younger brother and St. Louis captain Brayden Schenn! Or, Toronto fans chanting, “Brady sucks”, when it comes to their dislike for Ottawa captain and talented antagonizer Brady Tkachuk! I just hope there’s some more and better creative digs coming out of the stands!!
