The sun might be shining in parts of Saskatchewan, but the weather is bad enough on the eastern side of the province that the RCMP advise the public winter weather is impacting road conditions in southeast Saskatchewan in the vicinity of the Trans-Canada Highway.
They say officers in the area are responding to multiple collision sites and report road conditions are continually deteriorating. No injuries have been reported to police at this time. RCMP ask that if you are driving in the area, please slow down and follow the instructions of emergency personnel on scene.
Some areas along Highway #1 are reduced to one lane; motorists should expect delays when travelling. Snow and slush cover lanes as well as drifting snow and blowing snow are impacting driving conditions.
The eastern side of the province is under a snowfall warning. Essentially from Margo south to Foam Lake, Wolsely and almost to Stoughton, east to the Manitoba boundary – is all under a snowfall warning.
Environment Canada is forecasting wet snow will intensify through the day on Tuesday and persist through Tuesday night before tapering off Wednesday morning.
Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm of snow are expected.
