Members of the largest healthcare union in Saskatchewan gathered Wednesday on the steps of the Legislative building in Regina to demand fair wages.
Buses of CUPE 5430 healthcare workers and supporters drove in from Prince Albert, Saskatoon, North Battleford, Yorkton, Estevan, Moosomin, to name a few, to demand recognition for their role in Saskatchewan communities.
Bashir Jalloh, president of CUPE 5430 says “Our members are the heart of the health care system, but we are being overlooked and underpaid. We show up every day for our patients. Today, we showed up for each other.”
