Luther Care Communities says there are currently 28 active resident COVID-19 cases at Luther Special Care Home. Seven residents of the home have passed away since the outbreak there was declared on November 17th, which have been identified as COVID-related.
21 staff members have tested positive for the virus since the outbreak was declared. The organization says not all of those were the result of contracting the illness at work.
Infection control procedures are being used to confine the infection to one unit of the facility. Visitation at the home is limited to end of life reasons for the time being.
The only other facility with COVID cases is Luther Tower, Independent Living where there are four active resident cases. Contact tracing is underway and visitation at the tower is restricted. Residents are isolating in their suites and families have been notified.
