Over a thousand claims so far have been filed to SGI in the wake of last week’s blizzard.
SGI spokesperson Tyler McMurchy says the claims cover both property and vehicle damage, adding they’ve been filed from different communities stretching from Prince Albert to Estevan.
He says if you are filing a claim, it s best to have as much evidence as possible and he urges people to not try and fix anything if they can’t do so safely.
While they have received a number of claims, McMurchy says it s too early to estimate how much damage the storm actually caused. This is just one insurance company receiving claims.
The most recent wind storm in 2017 cost SGI $16 million. (CKRM)
