The Saskatoon Fire Department says they continue to work with the Saskatoon Police Service to determine the cause of a fatal house fire in the city. The damage to the home is now estimated at $120,000.
The Saskatoon Fire Department took a 9-1-1 call just after eight o’clock Tuesday night, about flames coming from a house in the 200 block of Avenue N South. First arriving firefighters saw flames on the main floor and smoke pouring from the second floor. Crews discovered an unconscious person inside and, upon removal, determined the person was deceased.
At nine o’clock, crews were still on scene extinguishing hot spots. Saskatoon Police say fire and arson investigators with them and the Fire Department along with investigators from the Major Crime Section and the Forensic Identification Section are working on the investigation.
