A hot plate being left on has led to a garage fire in the Dundonald area.
Saturday at around 6:38 p.m. the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the 200 block of Nixon Crescent, for a reported extinguished fire. Upon arriving fire crews say they were able to spot black smoke coming from the roof of a garage and proceeded to investigate further. Fire crews report using thermal imaging to trace the remaining fire and were able to extinguish it. Firefighters checked the attic of the house for any extension of fire and tested for carbon dioxide before deeming it safe.
The Fire Investigator determined this was an accidental fire and damage is estimated to be $10,000.
