A shed fire has caused $10,000 worth of damage at a River Heights Home.
On Friday at 2:41 p.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department received a call of a shed on fire in the 100 block of Columbia Drive. Initial reports stated the shed was close to a deck and the house. On arrival fire crews reported smoke in the back yard and quickly brought the fire under control within 10 minutes of their arrival.
Fire crews identified a pool heater had been on fire and were able to shut off utilities serving the heater. A Fire Investigator determined the cause of the fire was accidental, due to a gasoline container in the pool shed, whose vapors were ignited when they reached the pilot light of the pool heater.
No one was injured as a result of this fire.
