Canadian Blood Services is encouraging blood donations as Canadians get ready for Thanksgiving.

CBS says donations often decrease during long weekends but the demand for blood never stops. And Canadian Blood Services notes that donations are gratefully appreciated by hospital patients, especially during COVID-19.

It is by appointment only to remain in compliance with public health regulations. If you’re unable to make it to your appointment, donors as asked to cancel it so someone else can take your place and consider re-booking in coming months.

At the Saskatoon Blood Centre, located at 1206 Emerson Avenue, there are open appointments to fill at donation events that run:

Tuesday, Oct 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct 6th from 2 to 7 p.m.
Thursday Oct 7th from 2 to 7 p.m.
Friday , Oct 8th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday, Oct 9 from 8 a.m.to 2 p.m.
