Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for the western half of central and southern Saskatchewan. Extreme heat is expected tomorrow and Wednesday, with a bit cooler temperatures on Thursday and Friday, followed by extreme heat again over the weekend. It’s coming from the Northwest US and moving into the western prairies.
As of late afternoon on Monday, the warning was issued for as far north as Ile a la Crosse and Buffalo Narrows and through to the U.S. border, and further east to include Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Moose Jaw and everything in between. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
