Moose Jaw mayor Clive Tolley wants you to get a life, and he wants you to get it in Moose Jaw.
Tolley, on behalf of that city’s economic development team, was at the Regina airport recently to toot Moose Jaw’s horn under the ‘Get a Life’ campaign.
There are lots of jobs available in the Notorious City, Tolley points out. “Currently there’s about 30 job vacancies at Thunder Creek Pork,” Tolley said. “Donald’s Fine Foods is converting the former XL Beef plant into a pork processing plant, and they’re going to, at the end of the year or early nest year, require about 100 employees.”
The campaign notes that there are several advantages to living in Moose Jaw. A lower cost of housing means you will get more house for less money in a lot of cases. It’s about a 5-15 minute drive anywhere in the city, and it’s convenient for family and friends to visit, being 40 minutes from the Regina airport and located on the Trans Canada Highway.
Tolley said there has been unprecedented growth in Moose Jaw and in the Moose Jaw-Regina corridor.
“We want to grow our city, and it actually is growing,” he said. “One of the areas we want to improve on is more people coming to accept jobs.”
