Saskatchewan recorded a 3.7 percent increase in retail sales in June, which was the best of all ten provinces.
The total value of June retail sales in our province was near $2.1 billion dollars on the strength of higher sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
Compared to June 2021, retail trade rose by 10.1 percent.
Nationally, higher sales at gasoline stations and motor vehicle and parts dealers lead retail sales which were up by 1.1 per cent to to $63.1 billion Canada-wide in June, the sixth consecutive increase. Sales were up in 8 of 11 subsectors, representing 76.8 per cent of retail trade.
