Megan Gallagher’s family told the media Monday morning that their latest trip to court was their 43rd trip to court since Megan went missing in September of 2020.
Two people charged in connection to Megan’s suspected murder and disappearance were in Saskatoon Provincial Court Monday. Robin John is charged with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault while Jessica Sutherland is charged with indignity to human remains.
On Thursday, a search began in the St. Louis area along the South Saskatchewan River in an effort to bring Megan home. Within the first few hours, searchers found human remains.
Megan’s dad, Brian says those remains are being processed with an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday and the final DNA results being finalized seven to ten days later.
During a news conference Thursday morning at Saskatoon Police headquarters, Staff Sergeant Grant Obst told reporters they suspect Megan was unlawfully confined and murdered in Saskatoon before being disposed of in the St. Louis area.
In front of Saskatoon Provincial Court Monday morning, Gallagher thanks all of the 50 or so searchers who were in the St. Louis area.
“I wanna thank the 50-plus searchers that were out helping with the search, they were amazing, they were extremely respectful. They joined in ceremony and prayer, they laid tobacco down and about five, five and a half hours they had some results for us.”
In total, eight people have been charged in connection to Megan’s suspected murder and disappearance.
Megan Gallagher was last seen at the Mac’s convenience store on Diefenbaker Drive in September 2020.
