Saskatchewan food banks will be benefitting from an Original Joe’s campaign this month called Jolly Beer Month. Three dollars from every OJ’s Blonde Lager sold will be donated to local food banks across Western Canada.
The goal is to raise $100,000.
Executive Director of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre, Laurie O’Connor, says she is appreciative of the support and for shining a light on an important issue.
At the beginning of this year, the Saskatoon Food Bank was serving about 15,500 people with emergency food hampers each month, but now it’s up to 20,000 people.
Proceeds in Saskatchewan will go to the Estevan Salvation Army, Moose Jaw & District Food Bank, Prince Albert Food Bank, Regina Food Bank, Saskatoon Cumberland and Saskatoon Millar locations of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre and the Salvation Army Swift Current Food Bank.
