La Loche RCMP say a man reported missing February 14th was found deceased and it is now a homicide investigation.
Nathan Piche, 34-years-old, was last seen February 12th in the Garson Lake area. His body was discovered approximately one kilometre from where he was last seen, three days after being reported missing.
The investigation led to an arrest on March 3rd where the suspect indicated he was in acute medical distress. RCMP say he was taken to hospital and while there they allege, he attempted to assault the police officers, in addition, it was determined he was not in medical distress.
Twenty-eight-year-old Clayton Fontaine of La Loche is charged with criminal negligence causing death, assault police officer with a weapon and assault a police officer. He appeared in court yesterday (Mar. 6) which is also the same day a second suspect was located and arrested by Wood Buffalo RCMP in Alberta.
Erica Herman, 35-years-old, from Janvier, Alberta is charged with one count of criminal negligence causing death and arrangements are being made to transport her back to Saskatchewan.
