If you noticed a lot of activity around Saskatoon Police Headquarters on Saturday it wasn’t an emergency involving fire and police rather a day set aside to highlight what it’s like to have a career in Emergency Services.
One-hundred-ten people signed up for Exxplore where the Saskatoon Fire Department and the Saskatoon Police Service displayed skills and expertise.
The fire department showed off its ladder truck with a fire engine actively pumping water using hose lines, there was a demonstration of paramedic skills as well as a relay that was indictive of firefighter fitness.
Participants got to tour the Saskatoon Police Service Bear Cat unit, Canine officer Diesel showcased his abilities and they received first hand demonstrations on weapons used by police to encourage compliance.
